Your Tenant Rights

The State of Maine has enacted many laws that protect the interests of Tenants. So, for example, the existence of Lead Paint must be disclosed to Tenants. Maine’s eviction laws include multiple layers of protection to assure that Landlords use fair process. There are separate laws governing the handling and return of security deposits. And so on. Please consult with an attorney if you want to learn more, or, if feel your interests are at risk.

But here at Tenant-Net, we are particularly concerned with protecting your rights under the Federal Fair Credit Act, and the State of Maine’s companion law. As a duly licensed “credit reporting agency”, and as the company that will pull your credit report, we are charged with following these key laws.
